On November 3, 2007, I called
a Special Executive Board Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana for the purpose
of establishing a protocol of the GLSCUA Executive Board Members and their
duties following the loss of our elected 2008 GLSCUA President Barry "Can
Clown" Maxwell. The Board concluded that the same protocol that was
adopted when the GLSCUA President Bob Jones passed away while holding the
elected office of President should be followed. That procedure was, the
First Vice President would assume the duties of President and each officer
under the president would move up and assume the duties of the next office.
The acting President (Don "Cosmo" Waters) would then appoint a
"Sergeant-at-Arms" to assume the duties of that vacated position.
This would then allow for the nominations and election to follow its normal
course in Dayton, OH, in April 2008 with the swearing of officers in the
fall.
Acting GLSCUA President Don "Cosmo" Waters asked Mark Payne from
the Mocha Temple in Ontario, Canada to assume the position of "Sergeant-at-Arms"
and therefore, fill that appointed position until he or a worthy candidate
can be nominated, elected and sworn into that position. Mark Payne has graciously
accepted the appointment.
Before adjourning the acting Competition Director John "Jay Jay" Joseph presented a set of rules for the face painting competition. The GLSCUA Executive Board adopted and approved those "Face Painting Rules" for the Mid-Winter Convention in Dayton, OH in April.
Those rules have been published on the GLSCUA Web Site information section and will be in the February 2008 Clown Chatter. Please read the rules over carefully and if you have any questions contact our Competition Director.
Yours in clowning,
Don "Cosmo" Waters
